Fathers Trade Their Remote for Hammers this Fathers Day Weekend at the Habitat for Humanity Fathers Day Build
Franklin, WV (June 17, 2013) – Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity hosted the annual Father’s Day Build on Saturday June 15th. The crew of 10 volunteers included three fathers and three children, including future Habitat for Humanity homeowners Ashley Wicker, Bantansar and Monica Bossy along with their son Bradly and Noel Nededog and Randilyne Michael and their son Nolin.
Bantansar Bossy was joined by several other fathers who traded the remote for hammers this Father’s Day weekend. “This is the best Father’s day I have ever had, being approved as a partner family and helping another family on their home.”
The volunteers worked on building a front and back porch on the future home of Ashley Wicker which is being built on Painter’s Point. The volunteers also built a new door on the blitz trailer.
All of the fathers that participated received a $10.00 gift certificate from B&H ACE Hardware. Bantansar Bossy was the winner of the Makita Power Drill which was also donated by B&H ACE Hardware. Fox’s Pizza Den in Franklin generously provided pizza for all the participants.
“We are grateful to all who came out to build with us today” said Michelle Connor, Executive Director of Almost Habitat for Humanity. “I am humbled to see all of these fathers and their families, especially in these challenging economic times, come out and give of themselves to help others.
