Almost Heaven Launches "A Brush with Kindness"

Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity announced its new home repair program called A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) on June 1st. ABWK is an exterior home preservation repair program that helps low-income homeowners in need with minor exterior repairs such as porch repairs, painting, landscaping, exterior clean-up, and other minor repair services.

ABWK helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances, who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, reclaim their homes with pride and dignity.  ABWK will not replace our new home construction, but will serve as a companion program, enabling us to serve more families, increase opportunities for volunteers and help to revitalize existing neighborhoods.

A Brush with Kindness is part of Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity’s broader community development strategy, a holistic approach, which assists whole communities as well as families. By helping families to repair the exterior of their homes, it revitalizes the appearance of neighborhoods, strengthens connections within the community, and helps preserve and create additional affordable housing stock.
